Engineer Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure at Docker, Inc

Staff engineer designing and building Docker's internal infrastructure platform to enable self-service multi-region deployment and reduce manual operational workflows.

Lead Remote Posted about 5 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Docker has been one of the most loved brands in developer tooling, trusted by more than 20 million monthly users and over 20 billion container image pulls. From solo founders to the world’s largest companies, developers rely on Docker to build, share, and run their applications across our suite of products including Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout.

We are a globally distributed, remote-first team building the tools that define how software gets built and delivered. As AI agents redefine software development, Docker is at the center of that shift, providing the sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default.

Docker is shipping a wave of new products this year, with R&D initiatives likely to lead to more, and we’re investing heavily in the platform underneath all of it. That platform supports hundreds of engineers across many development teams and carries high-scale production traffic and data transfer every day. It has grown faster than its foundations, and this year is about closing that gap.

Today, much of that work still leans on a handful of experts unblocking the same provisioning and operational workflows by hand. The top priority for this role is moving that work from expert-driven support to paved roads: self-service systems with clear ownership, safe defaults, strong guardrails, and adoption we can measure. The goal is a platform teams trust enough to stop thinking about it, one that just works, so they can focus on their own products instead of ours.

The concrete version sits on this year’s roadmap: spinning up a new global region or application environment should take hours, not days. Right now it takes days. Getting there means building the foundations underneath it. We need a real multi-region, cross-account network architecture and a testing and continuous-deployment flow teams can trust, then a self-service layer on top.

We’re the container company building our own internal platform, so the bar for “the easy path is also the safe path” is high. You’d be joining a team of four, growing to seven this year (this is one of those hires), and we’re looking for a Staff engineer to set technical direction and lead it through real production adoption.

Responsibilities

This is a Staff-level role, so success is measured by leverage rather than just your own commits. On a team this size you’ll stay hands-on in the codebase while also setting direction, aligning teams on pragmatic standards, and carrying platform investments through to adoption. Concretely, you will:

  • Take ambiguous infrastructure problems and turn them into proposals the org can rally around, then drive them through RFCs and architecture reviews across teams.

  • Design self-service capabilities and platform APIs (primarily in Go) for onboarding, provisioning, deployment, observability defaults, and day-2 operations, with contracts and docs teams actually use.

  • Set delivery standards using Terraform, GitOps with Argo CD, progressive rollout, and good testing, including building the continuous-deployment flow we’re missing today.

  • Evolve the multi-tenant EKS foundations toward better reliability, security, scale, and cost: Envoy Gateway ingress, traffic routing, and the multi-region, cross-account connectivity we need.

  • Improve SLOs, alerting, and incident follow-up on Grafana Cloud so production gets safer and less dependent on heroics.

We judge this work by outcomes the consuming teams feel: how fast they can provision and ship, how much they can do without us, and how reliably it all runs.

AI-assisted operations

We’re actively investing in AI-assisted and agentic workflows to cut operational toil. We care that they stay safe, auditable, and human-reviewed. You’ll help shape where these earn their place and where they don’t. Early targets include:

  • Alert enrichment and incident context-gathering: assembling the relevant signals, history, and runbook so the on-call engineer starts with context instead of a blank page.

  • Runbook-assisted diagnosis and remediation recommendations, with a human in the loop on anything that changes production.

  • Onboarding and readiness assistants that answer the questions our experts answer today.

If you’ve built operational automation and have a healthy skepticism about where automation belongs, this is a place to put both to work.

On-call

Operational ownership is part of the job. You’ll join the rotation after onboarding and shadowing. As a Staff engineer, you’ll also improve the health of on-call itself, with better alerts, stronger runbooks, less toil, and blameless postmortems aimed at prevention.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional, hands-on, full-time software engineering experience in backend, infrastructure, or platform engineering.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Strong software engineering in Go or a similar language: design, testing, debugging, review, long-term maintainability.

  • A track record designing, shipping, and operating cloud services or infrastructure platforms in production. We hire for skill and impact, not years.

  • Deep expertise in at least one of: Kubernetes, networking, cloud platforms, reliability engineering, or developer platforms, plus solid Linux, networking, and production-ops fundamentals.

  • Experience setting technical direction and leading work that needs cross-team alignment.

  • Clear written and verbal communication in a remote environment (RFCs, design docs, incident writeups).

Nice to have: EKS and ingress/CNI/service-mesh experience; observability with OpenTelemetry/Prometheus/Grafana; CI/CD and progressive delivery (GitHub Actions, Argo CD, canaries); experience leading migrations or adoption programs across teams.

You don’t need every item here. We value deep expertise in one area, strong systems judgment, and curiosity across the rest.

What to Expect

First 30 days

  • Build context, meet partner teams, ship your first change, shadow on-call.

First 90 days

  • Own a strategic platform problem with a clear plan and metrics; lead an improvement from design to production.

One Year Outlook

  • Lead a major cross-team initiative (for example, self-service provisioning of new regions and environments, or the multi-region networking and CD foundations behind it) and establish durable patterns that change how Docker engineers build and operate services.

Docker considers visa sponsorship on a case-by-case basis based on business needs.

Principal UX Strategist who embeds design thinking into product strategy, champions innovation culture, and leverages AI tools to create differentiated enterprise products.

Lead Posted about 5 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

At NiCE, we don’t limit our challenges. We challenge our limits. Always. We’re ambitious. We’re game changers. And we play to win. We set the highest standards and execute beyond them. And if you’re like us, we can offer you the ultimate career opportunity that will light a fire within you.

Principal UX Strategist

Be the single point of design innovation at NiCE, where someone who brings a high design mindset, deep AI fluency, and the strategic instinct to help build products that win in the market.

About this role:

Products win when design is part of the strategy, not an afterthought. At NiCE, we’re building intelligent enterprise tools used by some of the world’s largest organizations and we’re looking for a Senior UX Strategist who can work shoulder-to-shoulder with product leadership, bring a culture of design innovation, and use AI as a creative and analytical tool to ideate faster, assess markets sharper, and build experiences that differentiate.

How You’ll Make an Impact

In this role, you’ll be measured by your impact on the product and not just the process. Here’s what you’re here to achieve:

  1. Build winning products with product teams- Embed a high design mindset into product strategy from day one — as a co-creator, not a service. Review and direct design work for strategic alignment, consistency, and quality.

  2. Champion an innovation culture- Make innovation a habit, not an event. Introduce practices and frameworks that shift teams from reactive design to proactive, opportunity-driven thinking.

  3. Lead with AI- Use AI tools throughout ideation, research synthesis, and rapid prototyping and design

  4. Own market and competitive intelligence- Continuously assess the competitive landscape and translate findings into actionable design differentiators. Know what best-in-class looks like, and help us go beyond it.

Strategic design partner- You know how to speak the language of product and business.

Innovation catalyst- You bring energy and structure to creative work. You know how to run ideation workshop, future-forward thinking and help teams commit to something bold.

Evidence-driven- You validate ideas before betting on them. You run usability tests, design and interpret A/B experiments, and use behavioural analytics to understand what users are actually doing and not just what they say.

Cross-functional operator- You work effectively with product, engineering, and leadership influencing without authority, building trust through quality of thinking and clarity of communication.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s/Master design degree, Interaction Design, Human Factors, or equivalent practical experience, AI Certification.

15+ years in UX, product design, or a related discipline, with at least 5+ years in a cross-product or strategic design role.

Proven track record of collaborating with product teams to shape strategy, not just design output.

Hands-on experience designing for intelligent recommendations, conversational interfaces, and agentic workflows.

Experience running competitive analysis and translating findings into design strategy.

Proficiency with A/B testing methodologies; ability to design experiments, interpret results, and make design decisions grounded in data.

Fluency with UX analytics tools and behavioural data — understanding user flows, drop-offs, engagement patterns, and how to act on them.

Strong portfolio with case studies demonstrating strategic thinking, process, and measurable outcomes.

Knowledge of accessibility standards (W3C, Section 508).

Tools exposure:

Figma make, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or FullStory, AI Tools.

Enjoy NiCE-FLEX!

At NiCE, we work according to the NiCE-FLEX hybrid model, which enables maximum flexibility: 2 days working from the office and 3 days of remote work, each week. Project Management Engineering Manager at Astra Finance

Engineering Manager leads and mentors a backend engineering team while remaining hands-on in architecting and building mission-critical financial systems processing millions in daily transactions.

Lead Posted about 5 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Astra

Astra is a high-impact engineering team building mission-critical financial infrastructure. Our fintech platform powers payment processing, fraud detection, and financial compliance for businesses handling 100M+ in weekly transaction volume. We maintain 99.9%+ uptime, process complex cross-border payments, and coordinate with multiple third-party financial services while meeting strict regulatory requirements.

The Role

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to contribute to leading and growing our engineering team while remaining deeply hands-on in the architecture and development of complex financial systems that process millions of dollars daily. This is a player-coach role — you’ll drive technical direction and mentor your team while continuing to contribute meaningfully as an engineer yourself. You’ll be central to designing cross-domain solutions that coordinate payments, fraud detection, compliance, and user management across our distributed microservices architecture.

This role requires deep systems thinking, technical leadership, and the proven ability to both build sophisticated systems and build the engineers who build them.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to the codebase as a technical force multiplier: filling gaps, improving quality, and modeling engineering standards.

  • Lead and Develop Your Team: Manage a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous growth. Conduct regular 1:1s, provide mentorship, and support career development across all levels of the team.

  • Architect Critical Financial Systems: Design and implement payment processing, fraud detection, and compliance systems that handle millions of dollars daily with strict regulatory requirements — and guide your team in doing the same.

  • Drive Technical Decisions: Own architecture decisions that impact the entire platform, establishing best practices and engineering standards as the organization scales.

  • Stay Hands-On: Contribute directly to complex engineering work — this is not a purely managerial role. You’ll write code, participate in design reviews, and remain an active technical voice on the team.

  • Lead Cross-Domain Solutions: Coordinate complex interactions between payments, fraud detection, user management, and compliance systems across a distributed microservices architecture.

  • Partner Across the Organization: Collaborate closely with product, compliance, and other engineering teams to design systems that meet both business and regulatory requirements.

  • Build Engineering Culture: Establish coding standards, design patterns, and engineering practices that will define the team’s culture from the ground up.

  • Manage Delivery: Balance technical quality with business velocity — plan engineering work, remove blockers, and ensure the team ships reliably.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience building complex, production systems

  • 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team, including performance management and hiring

  • Demonstrated experience as a player-coach — comfortable moving between technical execution and team leadership

  • Proven track record of solving complex, cross-domain engineering challenges in production environments

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited university highly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Backend Development: Python (we use Python 3), strong understanding of web frameworks and APIs

  • Database Design: Experience with both NoSQL and SQL databases

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud platforms

  • Architecture Patterns: Domain-driven design, clean architecture, CQRS

  • System Design: Ability to design systems that balance performance, maintainability, and business requirements

  • Distributed Systems: Event-driven architectures, microservices, and high-scale system design

Leadership Skills

  • Strong communicator who can translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience setting technical direction and building alignment across engineering and product teams

  • Ability to hire, onboard, and grow engineering talent

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information

Preferred Experience

  • Financial Systems: Payment processing, fraud detection, or compliance systems

  • Financial Regulations: Understanding of AML, KYC, PCI DSS, or similar regulatory frameworks

  • Banking Integrations: Experience with financial APIs and money movement systems

  • High-Scale Systems: Experience with systems processing high transaction volumes

  • Third-Party Integrations: Experience coordinating multiple external service integrations

Why This Role Matters

  • Direct Impact: You’ll lead a core part of a small engineering team building systems that power a growing fintech platform

  • Architecture Influence: Drive technical decisions that will scale with the business

  • Team Building: Shape engineering practices, culture, and the people who carry them forward

  • Complex Problems: Work on sophisticated challenges at the intersection of engineering and finance

  • Financial Innovation: Build and lead the teams building systems that enable new financial products and services

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation with equity in a growing fintech company

  • Remote-first culture with flexible working arrangements

  • Small team, big impact - your work directly shapes our platform

  • Professional growth - lead technical decisions and mentor team members

  • Modern tech stack - work with cutting-edge cloud technologies

  • Mission-driven - build systems that power financial innovation

Remote Work and Culture

Astra is a remote-first company hiring only within the U.S. We value thoughtful collaboration, clarity, and initiative. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.

How to Apply

We’re looking for engineers who are excited by complex systems problems and have the educational background and experience to handle sophisticated challenges. If you’re passionate about building mission-critical financial infrastructure and want to have a direct impact on our technical direction, we’d love to hear from you.

Marketing Head of Organic Growth (Remote - Porto, Portugal) at Alts Digital

Drives organic growth and SEO strategy for fintech websites, optimizing content and SERPs to maximize revenue-generating traffic and conversions.

Lead Remote Posted about 5 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Description

đŸ§© About Alts

Alts Digital is a fast-growing, bootstrapped group that builds digital ventures shaping how people engage with information, make decisions, and create value online. We specialize in guiding users to the best services for their needs, driving customer acquisition for leading brands in the iGaming and Fintech sectors.

Based in Portugal and operating as a remote-first company, our diverse team of 50+ members from + 10 countries serves thousands of customers worldwide. As founders, designers, adventurers, coders, parents, and animal lovers, we move fast, think ambitiously, and are passionate about building products that make an impact. We’re excited to welcome a new Head of Organic Growth to join our Loans unit. 🚀

đŸ’» About the role

As Head of Organic Growth, you will drive organic growth for our Loans unit, from SERP research to on-page implementation. We run four websites in the Portuguese credit space, all with traction and significant room to grow. Our content is largely already built; the challenge now is to optimize, refresh, and win SERPs, not produce in volume.

This isn’t about growing traffic for its own sake. It’s about growing the right traffic, on the articles that drive real business value, where every position won converts into a lead or a customer.

You will be a Head with hands on the page. No direct reports. Strategy, prioritization, and implementation are yours, end-to-end. You can count on freelancers when content production needs to scale, and on our design and tech teams when a fix needs more than just SEO. You’ll work closely with Product, Paid, and Tech, plus an external PR/Outreach freelancer/agency.

In general, this role means:

  • Owning the Organic strategy for our websites, end-to-end, from SERP research to on-page implementation.

  • Prioritizing where to invest based on revenue impact, not just traffic potential.

  • Designing workflows that combine you, freelancers, and AI for content optimization.

  • Making bold calls when you have data, and implementing them yourself when speed matters.

If you’re looking for a role focused mostly on editorial writing, this isn’t it.

If you want to build a smart content management machine, where you design the right way to simplify the work instead of manually sweeping data every month, then this is your place.

đŸ‘©â€đŸ’» What You’ll Be Doing

  • Investigate SERPs and prioritize commercial-intent content: the articles that drive leads, not just impressions or rankings.

  • Update existing content with hands on the editor: refresh, expansion, intent match, on-page optimization.

  • Ensure content across our websites is correct, up-to-date, and performing — especially in finance and credit topics.

  • Take authorship when it makes editorial sense; brief and manage freelancers when scaling.

  • Use AI as an extension of yourself. We provide whatever subscriptions you need (Claude including Cowork, ChatGPT, you name it).

  • Measure what matters (traffic, positions, CTR, conversions), iterate with data, and collaborate with Paid, Tech, and the PR/Outreach freelancer.

Requirements

🧠 Your Attitude & Background

  • 6+ years of demonstrated SEO experience, with at least one stretch as the person fully accountable for a site’s organic growth, and concrete track record to back it (queries, positions, lifts).

  • Ability to read Plausible/GA4, Search Console, ahrefs and SEO dashboards and pull clear actions.

  • Real comfort with LLMs in your workflow: your own prompts, favorite tools, formed opinions on what works and what doesn’t.

  • Editorial sense sufficient to validate quality, with comfort curating finance and credit content. The subject can’t intimidate you.

  • Native Portuguese (PT-PT). English comfortable enough for tools, research, and conversations with members of our group.

  • You think in business terms (revenue, conversions) and feel restless when the numbers aren’t going up. Vanity metrics don’t impress you.

  • Hunger. Without this, none of the rest matters. 🍔

🎁 Benefits You’ll Receive:

  • Full remote based in Big Porto. We try to gather at least once a month in some area around Porto.

  • Salary from €25,000 up to €35,000 gross annual.

  • Workation: A mix of work and vacation. Once a year, we find a cool place to work and have fun together.

  • Alts Ville: We have a house in the stunning Madeira Island available for all employees who want to spend some time with friends, colleagues, and family đŸïž

  • Time Off: Life is better when you’re rested. We offer flexible vacation days so you can recharge on your own terms, plus your birthday off and 2 extra days during the holiday season. Some moments deserve your full attention.

  • Health Insurance. We value the well-being and health of our team. To ensure that everyone feels cared for, we offer Health Insurance đŸ„

  • 1.000€ / year of financial support in other areas of your life, e.g., professional development.

  • Laptop Support Budget: A yearly budget to support laptop repairs or contribute towards a new device when needed.

  • We offer a 100€ monthly voucher to use in co-working spaces. Working remotely doesn’t have to mean working from home every day.

Engineer Staff Software Development Engineer (Hybrid @ Bellevue, WA or Remote @ Florida) at OfferUp

Staff engineer designs and operates high-throughput microservices, sets technical direction for the Business team, mentors engineers, and ships full-stack features across marketplace verticals.

Lead Hybrid Posted about 5 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About the role:

The OfferUp Business team owns the platforms that power every business vertical on our marketplace; Storefronts, Auto Dealers, Services, Rentals, and Jobs. Our customers aren’t casually browsing; they’re running businesses on top of what we build, so every feature we ship has a direct, measurable impact on their livelihood and on OfferUp’s revenue. We operate the full stack end-to-end: including microservices that handle some of the highest RPS and TPS in the company, and integrations with partners like Stripe and Shopify. We move fast, instrument everything, and treat experimentation as a first-class part of the workflow. We’ve barely scratched the surface of what these verticals can become, and the roadmap is wide open for someone who wants to shape it.

At many organizations, your role begins and ends with the code. On our team, we’re different. You own a feature from concept to fruition. Your responsibilities will include everything from writing well architected and thoroughly tested code, to rolling out the feature by analyzing metrics. You also get to take ownership beyond your technical area by working with cross-functional team members.

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Business team, you’ll be both a hands-on builder and a technical leader. You’ll set the technical direction for the team, ship high-impact features with strong operational rigor, raise the bar on engineering quality across the org, and find creative ways to unlock new business surfaces.

Here’s more of what you will get to do:

  • Define the multi-quarter technical roadmap for the Business team and align it with company priorities
  • Design and operate high-throughput microservices where reliability, latency, and observability are non-negotiable
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features across all five business verticals
  • Communicate complex technical designs to both technical and non technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with engineering teams across OfferUp to surface common pain points, develop solutions, and evangelize best practices
  • Drive experimentation strategy, design A/B tests, interpret results, and use data to decide what ships
  • Make pragmatic calls on what to refactor, replace, or leave alone, and bring the team along on the reasoning
  • Support, mentor, and grow other engineers on the team
  • Partner deeply with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to drive features and assess timelines
  • Participate in a reasonable on-call rotation with the rest of the team
  • Help maintain code quality across our existing applications
  • Create solutions and frameworks that make the rest of the team better and faster
  • Champion the use of AI tooling across the team. From day-to-day coding assistants to agentic workflows for testing, code review, and operational tasks.  Help define the guidelines and best practices that scale these tools across OfferUp engineering
  • Become an SME for the team’s areas of ownership

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience building and operating data-driven applications at scale
  • Experience performing data analysis and translating results into business recommendations
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) in a production engineering workflow, with a point of view on where they accelerate work and where they don’t
  • Experience using good judgment to balance engineering improvements with business needs
  • Experience developing both short- and long-term technical vision for a set of services or features
  • Experience guiding and mentoring other engineers
  • Strong Java skills (required) and fluency in any other modern language; deep grounding in OOP, microservices, and distributed-systems design
  • Hands-on experience designing and building microservices and scalable distributed systems
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and object-oriented design
  • Hands-on experience with load balancing and handling large traffic volumes
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure
  • A bias toward shipping, learning from production, and iterating quickly
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience

Helpful, but not required:

  • Full-stack experience with React, TypeScript, and GraphQL
  • Experience with payment integrations (Stripe or similar) and third-party platform integrations (Shopify, marketplaces)
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms (Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely) and analytics warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake)

Compensation Range: $210,000 - $240,000

Individual salaries within our ranges are determined through a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. About Sovrn

Every interesting company solves important problems for other people.  Sovrn is a Software and Data business that helps Open Web businesses be and remain independent.  We help them understand their business better, operate more efficiently, and make & keep more money.

  • We believe in the freedom and free-flow of information.
  • We believe the Open Web is the largest source of this information.
  • We believe in helping Open Web businesses be and remain Independent.

Through Software products and Data solutions we help our customers:

  • Operate their business more efficiently, so they can invest in what matters most
  • Make (and Keep) more money, so they control their own destiny

About the Role

We’re looking for a Director, Data Collective to lead the team that owns Sovrn’s data platform end-to-end: the pipelines, lakehouse, data services, and cloud infrastructure that power our exchange, our products, and our customers’ decisions. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. You’ll own team composition and hiring; lead architecture and design across the platform; and remain close enough to the code, the systems, and the tradeoffs to make real technical decisions, not just approve them.

You’ll be working with a strong senior team, a modern stack, and an organization that already uses LLMs and agentic tooling across the data stack. We’re looking for a leader who can take what’s working from “in use” to “intentional practice.” Someone with strong opinions about what high-leverage AI-native data engineering looks like at exchange scale, and the credibility to bring the rest of the org along.

Languages / components / tools in our stack: Python, Redpanda/Kafka, Databricks/Spark, AWS/S3, Terraform, Datadog, GitHub

What you’ll be doing:

Team Leadership & Composition

  • Own the skill mix of the Data Collective team; lead hiring and performance management for engineers ranging from mid-level to Principal
  • Set the technical and cultural standards for the team: what “great” looks like in design, code review, on-call, and cross-team partnership
  • Mentor and grow engineers across levels through hands-on design collaboration, technical coaching, and clear career frameworks
  • Partner with the broader engineering leadership team on org-wide planning, budgeting, and roadmap tradeoffs; represent the team’s work and constraints to executives

Data Platform Architecture & Engineering

  • Drive architectural decisions across pipeline design, data modeling, lakehouse architecture, and data services layers
  • Heavily contribute to the design and architecture of Sovrn’s data pipelines, lakehouse, and data services: high-throughput streaming, always-on batch, petabyte-scale storage and query
  • Lead design reviews and set technical standards across the team; raise the bar on engineering rigor, observability, and operational excellence
  • Stay close enough to the systems to make real tradeoffs on performance, cost, governance, and reliability, and to know when the team’s estimates and risk assessments are right

AI & Modern Data Engineering Practice

  • Set the team’s direction on AI-native data engineering: where LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted tooling create real leverage in a high-throughput adtech environment, and where they don’t
  • Establish standards for how the team evaluates, trusts, and operates AI-powered systems in production: observability, fallback behavior, model governance, and cost control
  • Identify high-leverage AI applications in the data stack: intelligent pipeline optimization, anomaly detection, automated data quality, forecasting, and LLM-powered data services

Operational Excellence & Cost Management

  • Own the operational posture of the data platform: SLOs, on-call health, incident response, and continuous improvement
  • Own the infrastructure cost footprint of the Data Collective across AWS and Databricks; drive structural cost improvements through architecture, and disciplined commitment management
  • Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption, policy-as-code, governance frameworks (RBAC/ABAC, IAM, SCIM), and CI/CD for infrastructure across the team
  • Make sure the team is investing in the right balance of new capability, platform health, and tech debt

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Provide domain expertise across the organization to enable business growth through data services and data models
  • Partner with Product, Data Science, AI/ML, Platform, and Security teams to ship end-to-end and to make Sovrn’s data assets easier and safer to use
  • Serve as a senior point of counsel to all consumers and stakeholders of Sovrn’s data: internal teams, leadership, and external customers of our Data-as-a-Service products
  • Communicate clearly at multiple levels: from architecture documents and design reviews to executive updates on cost, capacity, and risk

A successful candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of software / data engineering experience, with a strong hands-on track record in data platforms, distributed systems, or backend infrastructure
  • 4+ years leading and growing engineering teams, including hiring, leveling, and performance management of senior and principal-level engineers
  • Deep, current technical proficiency. You still read code, write design docs, and lead architecture, not just review work
  • Hands-on experience in big data and distributed data processing in the AWS ecosystem (Python, Spark, Kafka/Redpanda, Databricks or similar lakehouse platforms)
  • Experience operating data systems at scale: real-time streaming, batch pipelines, data lakes, metadata management, lineage, and governance
  • Working knowledge of cloud platform engineering practices: IaC (Terraform), CI/CD, observability, IAM, and cost management
  • Track record of leading or substantially contributing to AI / agentic engineering efforts in production, not just experimentation, but shipped, operated, and iterated on
  • Hands-on experience operating production vector databases at scale, including the pipelines and infrastructure to refresh hundreds of millions of vectors on a daily cadence
  • Familiarity with adtech data infrastructure (SSP, DSP, exchange, or ad server environments) and the programmatic ecosystem (OpenRTB, bid request/response flows, auction mechanics, supply path optimization) is a strong plus
  • Experience with data security and compliance (PII, CCPA, GDPR)
  • Ability to clearly communicate architectural concepts and team strategy at multiple levels, from engineers to executives to the board
  • Comfort driving technical and organizational decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

We understand that no candidate is perfectly qualified for any job. Experience comes in different forms, many skills are transferable, and passion goes a long way. Even more important than your resume is a clear demonstration of accountability and the ability to thrive in a fluid and collaborative environment. We expect you to learn new things in this role and encourage you to apply if your experience is close to what we’re looking for.

Security Director, Detection Engineering & Threat Hunting at Huntress

Director leading detection engineering and threat hunting teams, setting strategy for enterprise cybersecurity detection capabilities and managing multiple manager-level reports.

Lead Remote Posted about 5 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Reports to: Chief Security Officer

Location: Remote US

Compensation Range: $220,000 to $240,000 base plus bonus and equity

What We Do:

Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact.

Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We work closely with security teams and service providers protecting complex environments, often without the time or headcount to handle it all. That’s why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24⁄7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customers’ protection.

Huntress now secures more than 5M endpoints and 11M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence. Every day, you can see that commitment in how we stand with our customers and how we show up for each other.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a strategic leader to own the future of Detection Engineering & Threat Hunting at Huntress. As a Director, you will manage multiple sub-teams (via Managers) and serve as a trusted advisor to the Sr. Dir of Threat Detection and Response.

Your mission is to align the DE&TH function with the broader company strategy. As we scale, you will determine the structural, technological, and budgetary requirements needed to maintain superior detection efficacy. You will own the relationship with the Product organization. Ensuring that our defensive strategy evolves faster than the adversaries we protect against.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Vision: Set the direction, strategy, and vision for the entire DE&TH function. You will define the team’s 12-18-month prioritization.
  • Manage a team of Managers: You will manage at least two teams or sub-teams via other managers. Your focus is on developing their leadership capabilities, enabling them to execute effectively, and holding them accountable for the health and output of their team.
  • Budgeting & Planning: Propose and own plans for budgeting, execution, and hiring. You will develop capacity models to ensure our team’s growth aligns with our overall growth, presenting these resource needs to executive leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Strategize with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, and Security. You are a key stakeholder in the company’s direction, advocating for the telemetry and architectural changes required to support future detection use cases.
  • Systemic Problem Solving: Identify and surface patterns to leadership regarding root causes of problems. You anticipate future challenges and own the delivery of solutions before they become bottlenecks.
  • Culture & Standards: Exemplify and hold others accountable to the management standards of the company. You are responsible for creating a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing culture across the entire function.

What You Bring To The Team

  • Strategic Leadership: 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with significant experience managing managers. You have led large, high-priority projects that impacted the company’s direction.
  • Visionary Thinking: You can look past the current quarter. You understand the “Macro” of the threat landscape and can translate that into a “Micro” plan for your teams.
  • Business Acumen: You understand how a SOC fits into the business model. You can articulate the ROI of detection engineering and threat hunting to non-technical stakeholders and manage a department budget.
  • Force Multiplier: You excel at empowering others. You don’t solve problems for your team; you build the structures and frameworks that allow your team to solve problems themselves while you focus on accountability and scalability.

What We Offer:

  • 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015
  • Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans
  • 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution
  • Life and Disability insurance plans
  • Stock options for all full-time employees
  • One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office
  • Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance
  • $75 USD/month digital reimbursement
  • Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth

Huntress is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where every single member of our team is valued, has a voice, and is empowered to come to work every day just as they are.

We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, genetic information, marital status, or any other legally protected status.

Sales Advertising Director at Taboola

Leads sales and account management teams across Turkey and emerging markets, driving new advertiser acquisition, client retention, and regional revenue growth for a performance advertising platform.

Lead Posted about 5 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Realize your potential by joining the leading performance-driven advertising company!

As the Advertising Director, Turkey & Emerging Markets, you will own and grow Taboola’s advertiser business with Turkey as your primary market and engine of growth, alongside additional emerging markets including the Baltics and Sub-Saharan Africa. This is a hands-on commercial leadership role: you will lead both halves of the engine — a team of sellers landing and scaling new business, and a team of account managers driving retention and growth — while staying personally close to the biggest deals and clients. You own the full customer lifecycle and the regional book of business end to end.

We’re looking for an exceptionally ambitious, sales-savvy self-starter — someone who hunts and grows whilst fostering relationships with our top partners in the region. You will build and manage long-term strategic partnerships with direct clients and agencies, advocating the power of our platform and scaling our momentum in some of the most exciting growth markets in the world. Success in this role is based on relentless prospecting and pipeline development, new client acquisition and activation, client retention and growth, and achievement against aggressive total revenue goals across markets. This is not a role for someone who waits for leads to come to them, or who says “I wouldn’t chase that” — you set the pace, get in front of the right people by whatever route works, and lead from the front. Our culture and win-win approach to partnerships demand passion, accountability and a real sense of professional urgency every single day, alongside the cultural fluency to win across very different markets.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • To be an extremely ambitious, driven self-starter who creates their own momentum, hunts down opportunities, and will personally chase, pitch and close — no task is beneath you when there’s revenue on the table
  • Minimum of 10 years in a senior commercial or advertising leadership position, selling scalable solutions to advertisers (preferably from performance advertising)
  • Deep familiarity with the Turkish advertising market — its clients, agencies, dynamics and decision-makers — and the ambition to make it your flagship market
  • Proven experience directly managing, recruiting and developing one or both of a sales team and an account management team while still leading from the front and rolling up your own sleeves
  • Proven success in securing and scaling customer budgets, and in growing and retaining existing accounts post-sale
  • Relentless track record independently building, pursuing and closing a large pipeline of leads, and running structured account and retention plans
  • Significant experience in structuring and negotiating deals within the digital media space
  • Experience mentoring sellers and account managers and pushing them to excellent performance
  • Must be technologically savvy — able to learn what is needed to support successful deal implementation and optimization
  • Experienced in building great team culture and camaraderie across distributed, multi-market teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment and to consistently learn, adapt and develop
  • Fluency in Turkish and English are required; additional regional languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the region
  • Working with performance customers would be highly beneficial

How you’ll make an impact:

As an Advertising Director, Turkey & Emerging Markets you’ll bring value by:

  • Leading both a team of sellers and a team of account managers to land, scale and retain business — with Turkey as your primary focus and the Baltics, Sub-Saharan Africa and other emerging markets as growth opportunities — while personally driving the most important deals
  • Driving aggressive, high performance across both functions in order to grow the regional Book of Business
  • Defining the go-to-market strategy for each market across direct and agency routes, and finding creative ways of cutting through the noise to get in front of key decision-makers
  • Effectively managing client expectations and ensuring successful campaign management end to end
  • Managing a robust pipeline and accurately forecasting new-business closure rates, identifying ways to close the gap
  • Setting clear goals and KPIs for both the sales and account management teams, regularly tracking and optimizing performance
  • Understanding clients’ organizations, producing and maintaining up-to-date ‘client mapping’ for key accounts
  • Running quarterly account plans with the AMs and holding them accountable for ways to scale
  • Offering multiple Taboola products to a given client by finding the right stakeholders for each product
  • Gaining excellent understanding of digital technology, video, and the revenue ecosystem to explain product benefits in context
  • Working closely with regional and global leadership to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals
  • Building a book of business with a strong ICP base, growing anchor accounts into flagship advertisers and the largest spenders in their respective markets
  • Pitching, signing and managing JBAs with key clients
  • Interacting with the project implementation team to manage client expectations and ensure successful implementation of our products and technology
  • Working collaboratively with other markets and teams to understand the types of clients scaling elsewhere and replicating those playbooks across the region
  • Conveying client feedback to Taboola’s product team regarding product development needs
  • Maintaining an active social and on-stage presence, actively building your network across the region
